We will be doing an in-depth interview with Melodee M. Spevack as soon as she can free-up a two-hour block of time. Being one of the busiest people in the business, we realize it may be late summer by the time the interview actually happens. In the interim, here's some basic information on Melodee and her recent work:
ON CAMERA: Melodee just wrapped a
co-starring role in THE DIVISION on Lifetime.
She also co-starred on NBC'S THE SECRET WORLD OF DREAMS and many others.
VOICEWORK: She is currently running in
Fox's DIGIMON (roles include "Birdramon" and "Garudamon");
SHINZO (roles include the evil "Rusphene" and "Grandora")
and
FLINT THE TIME DETECTIVE (roles include "Eldora" and
"Elvira").
She was the voice of "Sword" in the TEKNOMAN series;
"Julia" in the FIST OF THE NORTH STAR feature and "Grenda"
in the series BIT THE CUPID.
Looping credits include DUNE (Sci-fi Channel); STARSHIP TROOPERS; John Carpenter's VAMPIRES; XENA; HERCULES; MORTAL KOMBAT; ALIEN RESURRECTION (voice doubling for Sigourney Weaver) and many others.
Vice President of VOXWORKS, INC. Company does voice casting, directing and film localization. Melodee's partner is currently in Europe on assignment for Dreamworks - they have also done film localization for Warner Bros. Their CD-ROM/interactive credits include: STAR TREK: JUDGEMENT RITES and STAR TREK: 25TH ANNIVERSARY; STONEKEEP; DIE BY THE SWORD; BLOOD AND MAGIC; NORMALITY; DESCENT I and II: SIMANT and many others. Melodee personally directed the Library Edition books on tape for Audio Renaissance, including Herman Wouk's THE HOPE with Theodore Bikel.
Voicework on CD-ROM/interactives include: THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK II; INHERIT THE EARTH; ASTROCHASE and others.
STUNTWORK: Credits include: THE MASK; RESCUE 911; SILK STALKINGS; DYNASTY; CRITTERS III; THE NAKED GUN; THE FIRST POWER; SPELLBINDER and others. Melodee has doubled Tracy Griffith, Courtney Cox, Kelly Preston, Amy Yasbeck, Stephanie Beacham, Mitzi Kapture and others. She was the original "Red Sonja" at Universal Studio's Tour CONAN show and was the voice of Vicki Vale in Six Flag's BATMAN show (and played the role in the Texas company of the stunt show).
She trained several actors in swordwork and archery for the HERCULES series and has many additional combat choreography / training credits including DIE BY THE SWORD (CD-ROM); THE FLAME SWORD OF LLOTH (Interplay/TSR); THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (South Bay Civic Light Opera) and was on-staff combat choreographer/trainer for the Educational Shakespeare Alliance.
