We are currently celebrating our 30th year in business! We have established an outstanding reputation within the industry, and better business organizations have described us as "exemplary". Since our beginning back in 1976, our services have been very effective for our members, with results including starring roles in feature films and television series! A sophisticated in-house computer system, fed by more than 400 different sources, is utilized to keep track of over 35,000 producers, directors, casting people, etc., and the upcoming union feature film and television projects on which they will be working. This daily-updated information is used to promote a maximum of 100 outstanding professional actors and actresses (APS members). Here's how that part of the service works: Your photos and resumes are delivered to a minimum of 50 different active casting/industry people each week. Virtually all of these people will be involved in the hiring process for an upcoming legitimate union film or television project. A 15 to 35-page weekly report is e-mailed to you letting you know exactly who received your photos. This part of the service alone is more than 90% effective. Documentation is on file here including hundreds of unsolicited "thank you" letters from producers, directors, casting directors, stars, and some of the best known people in the business. The total cost for membership, which includes this and many other services, is less than you would spend for postage and envelopes alone if you had the information and the time to "do it yourself". And, of course, unsolicited mail from actors stands a poor chance of even being opened.
About every six to eight weeks, we produce a very special networking event. For example, over a hundred producers, directors, and related industry professionals attended this representative event at a beautiful private estate, along with 49 APS actor/actress members -- That's more than twice as many producers as actors! And, that has been the ratio for the last nine events! The production-side guests included multiple-award winners and producers of major upcoming star-driven feature films. These events are positive, productive, fun, and strictly business. A great deal of film and TV work (including many starring roles) has resulted from these events, which are free to active APS members. And, our shows (showcases) are extraordinary! The performance at the Acme Comedy Theatre, for example, attracted a near full house - over 80 producers, directors, casting directors, and agents! Virtually all of those people stayed for 2 hours afterwards to meet the actors at the dinner buffet. The production of "Jack & Charmian London" at the North Hollywood Masonic Lodge Theatre attracted over 100 production-side people, and featured several hours of networking and a complete "sit-down" dinner.
